My Microblading Experience At Val’s Beauty Ink

Hello there Loves!

This post has been a long time coming and today I am talking about my experience with microblading and why I decided to do it. I’ve sat on the thought for the last year or so and finally jumped on the ship and, I must admit, I am extremely happy I did.

What is Microblading you may ask? It is a
semi-permanent tattoo where pigment is implanted under the skin. It is not as
permanent as a real tattoo. it could last up to 16 months before you need to do a touch up. A qualified artists such as Val will mimic your
natural hair and draw hair-like strokes on the eyebrow.

After researching multiple Microblading specialist, I decided to go with Val’s Beauty Ink. She has two locations in Los Angeles but I did my treatment in her Downtown salon. I’m pretty happy I went with Val. Her reviews on Yelp made me feel extremely secure and safe. What made my experience even more a better one was her warm and welcoming salon. I instantly felt like family and I was not expecting that at all. I expected to show up, get my services done, and be out. Instead, I walked away feeling like family. The other clients, new and old, I could tell felt like family too. My trust factor as to how she would do the job went beyond a thousand percent.

All of this really helped made me relax and trust val to take my eye-brows from nay to yay. 🙂

I took a few pictures at home before I went for my appointment on Saturday morning. To date, it was three weeks ago. I have really been meaning to write this post but as many of you know from my Instagram, I was out of the country for a bit. As you can tell my brows are thin and out of shape. I literally used to spend 5-10 minutes pretty much everyday perfecting my eyebrows while putting on my make up, but no more.

Val measured my face and calculated the dimensions of my eyebrows. I honesty thought she was going to jus ask me to draw out my eyebrows how I wanted them and she would replicate it. Haha! I guess I missed that part while researching Microblading. However, while she measured my face, that also instantly calmed my nerves as I could trust and feel this is beyond true professionalism.

After the measurements, she drew on a frame and asked me what I thought about the width. I actually asked her to make it thinner as it seemed too thick. She easily obliged and now I regretted that I asked her to make it thinner. She did tell me not to watch the thickness of what she drew, I should look in between the lines but I was nervous and went thinner. I should have totally trusted her more. She did not at any point force or fuss about asking to go thinner, she simply oblige like a true professional. I noted that as very remarkable and customer focused service.

She then based my eyebrows with numbing cream and let me sit for 15 minutes so that it could be nicely numb and ready to go.

My eyebrows faith was now in Val’s hand and it was about to go down. Hehe! The nerves kicked in a little bit but Val’s calming spirit made the first stroke so easy and bearable. Well, along with numbing cream. It hurt a tad bit (and by my standards a tad bit means zero to very little pain for others). My threshold to pain is so small, even little pinch on my arm is painful for me so, you get the idea.

She went over each brown simultaneously and for each time she went over it, she added more numbing cream. I think by the 3rd time I could not feel any pain and we were having regular conversation as if we were a a coffee shop.

Once done, she sealed my brows, left me to relax a bit and them wiped them off. The reveal was amazing because I did not to peek throughout the process, I just wanted a grand reveal and grand it was. I was so so so excited and pleased. I literally felt like a brand new woman. I know, cliche but it’s true.

As you can see the big difference from my before to my after and yes, that is exactly what my brows look like.

Now, this is a two step process. I have to return in six weeks (3 weeks from now) for the final fill to ensure the color is perfect and full. It took me a solid 5 days to heal.

I also recorded the actual process but I haven’t had time to edit it yet but I do hope to do it soon. I’m in and out of my head and plans to start my Youtube Channel but I am so buried with both my 9-5 and this blog, I’m not sure I have enough time to commit to a channel. I’m highly likely going to do it in the next 3 months and once I do, I will update this post for you all to watch.

Also, I will share my follow-up post with you all in a part two series.

My take aways:

Microblading is worth every penny

Miroblading gives your face a beautiful lift and definitely enhances your confidence

Micorblading should be researched and an experienced and trusted professional should be sought out

Microblading process is easier than many of us think

Finally loves, I’ve asked Val if se could offer my readers any discount on their procedure and she said YES. She is offering $200 off and all you have have to do is use code KEYMA at checkout to redeem that or simply contact her here and tell her I sent you. I know many of you aren’t in Los Angeles but you can also set an appointment if you plan to visit LA anytime.

If you have any additional questions, email me or leave a comment below and I will be happy to answer.

Stay tuned for part two within the next month.
