Skincare Suggestions to Get Your Glow On

Have you always wondered how some chic women get healthy and glowing skin? For many of them, it’s not always achieved through makeup but rather through skincare. That beautiful glow results from the careful and religious application of skin care products that reveal luminous, radiant skin. If you want that glow, here are some skincare suggestions that will help you achieve that.

1. Vitamin C. Adding a Vitamin C serum to your makeup routine is like giving your skin a much-needed dose of goodness. It’s rich in antioxidants and shields your skin from the ravages of free radicals. Not only does it protect the skin, but it also brightens your complexion. It minimizes hyperpigmentation, which helps you look younger as well!

Usage: Apply daily as part of your daytime skincare routine after cleansing, moisturizing, and just before sun protection.

2. Retinol. This Vitamin A derivative is the secret weapon against the hands of time. It is the go-to serum for reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. If you are in your 30s and above, this should be a skincare staple to slow aging and help you achieve a radiant complexion.

Usage: Start small, around 1% concentration, applied three times a week at night on top of moisturizer. As you build up a tolerance, you can increase it to 5% and apply it three times a week for two weeks before stepping it up to nightly use. Never skip sunscreen during the day when you are on retinol to keep your skin thoroughly protected.

3. Hyaluronic Acid. Plump up your skin by increasing hydration, which is best achieved with hyaluronic acid. This type of serum keeps your tissues hydrated, plumping them up and increasing elasticity for a youthful look. Glowing skin is hydrated; the fastest way to achieve that is through this wonder of an ingredient.

Usage: Apply generously every morning and night after serums, patting your skin until it’s fully absorbed. If your skin feels bouncy and slightly sticky after applying it, you know you’ve put on the right amount.

4. Niacinamide. Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3 known for its brightening ability. This is also a powerful antioxidant that suppresses melanin transfer. Adding niacinamide to your daily routine will fade dark spots faster, keep hyperpigmentation at bay, and give you a brighter and more even skin tone.

Usage: Apply daily as part of your regular morning skincare routine, after moisturizer, and before hyaluronic acid and sun protection. 1-2 drops spread over the face is enough for an application.

5. Squalane. This oil is rich in nutrients that deliver maximum hydration to your skin. It also protects it from environmental damage with a potent dose of antioxidants. If your skin looks dull, simply include squalene in your routine to infuse your skin with renewed vitality.

Usage: Once a day, whether in the morning or at night. 1-2 drops of pure squalene serum should be enough. Work it thoroughly on your face and neck for maximum absorption. Take some time to let it dry, as this super-rich serum will make your face shine until it is fully absorbed.

Coupled with your favorite sunscreen, these five products will set you on the journey to glowing and luminous skin. If you want an idea for creating a skincare routine, I shared mine in a self-care vlog on YouTube.

Don’t be surprised to apply less makeup once you’ve tried these super serums, thanks to how much they’ve improved your skin!
