Hi Loves,
I find myself justifying spending big bucks on material items every once in a while. I love to spend on handbags and shoes. However, I fall into guilt sometimes wondering I am spending too much on an item when that money can be used to do other stuff or help someone out. I’ve met many unselfish people who have put themselves on the back burner and given everything they have to family, friends, church, or charity yet never treat themselves or seldom do so. To be frank I do not want to be one of those people. I think there should be a balance. You do where you can but you also do for yourself. I often come back to this thought when I am thinking about making a big material purchase.
Here are five tips to really show you why, indulging is quite fine as long as you can afford it:
1. If you do not spend on yourself, who will?
2. If you work hard, tirelessly and commit to making a living for yourself and your family. You deserve a treat.
3. Purchasing timeless pieces is actually an asset that can be sold or cashed out later on if you come up on hard times. Keep it simple and classic.
4. How awesome is it to pass an item down of values to your kids or family members that you know will take good care of it.
5. YOLO- Yup, I said it. You Only Live Once
Here’s the info on my look. This is the basic fundamental of mixing high and low. My dress is from T.J Maxx for $16, my sandals are from Zara for $35, my sunglasses are from Shein for $7, my bomber jacket is from Forever21 $30, my head band is my actual robe belt, and this bag is my newest acquisition. I’m also wearing my Chanel earrings (similar here) I purchased almost 5 years ago and they are still worth 95 % of the value even though they are worn. Like I said before I went back and forth is buying in Gucci Tote. I though, hmm over $1k is a bit much right now and I have vacation coming up, student loans still paying off and general monthly expenses. Then I thought about those 5 points above and also with the help of my guy who thinks I deserve any and everything I desire. Literally he has never ever said “no babe, too expensive” or “why spend so much”. He constantly reminds me that I work hard and I should treat myself. I know he also knows I am not a wasteful spender and that also helps.
This bag is reversible and there are two designs to this bag. One with design and the other like I have, plain without embroidery. My guy helped me chose and reminded me that the one with the design is trendy and within a year or two the embroidery trend will diminish. Thankfully I listen and best decision to go with the simple and classic tote.
