Hi Loves!
After revealing my Living & Dining Room decor (post here), I received a lot of questions about why I chose a white sofa, is it feasible for my family, and will it get ruined quickly? I actually thought about this for a long time before I decided to take the leap. I had those same questions and even more. After a lot of research, I found that Arhaus had the answer and the perfect sofa for me and for anyone who is apprehensive about a white sofa. Here’s my top 5 reasons for getting this sofa:
- The entire slipcover on my Tahoe Slipcovered Sofa can be removed. Not just the cushions but also the base. A lot of slipcovered sofas only let you remove the cushions or some sections for cleaning. This was a huge selling point for me. Arhaus gives detailed description and best practices on caring for the Tahoe Slipcovered Sofa.
- Tahoe slipcovers are inconspicuously secured with velcro underneath frames. This gives the sofa a clean and ‘non-slipcovered’ look which looks so beautiful with the white fabric. A lot of slipcovered sofas clearly tells you it has slipcovers on. It almost looks like a skirting. I don’t quite like that look because it didn’t match the contemporary luxe feel I was going for. The Tahoe slipcover was the perfect option and I couldn’t be happier with it.
- White sofas are so fabulous and give any space a luxurious feel. They’re versatile in how you can decorate it and the space around it. I love that white transitions into every season and holds its own. White will never go out of style.
- A white sofa will brighten and enlarge any room. If you’re looking to make your space feel brighter and bigger, then this Tahoe Slipcovered sofa is your answer. To cozy up the space (like I plan to do in Fall), simply add lots of cushions, throws, blankets and side decor. Once the season ends, put them away and your space will be airy and bright again.
- Finally, the most popular question and/or concern was white couch and kids. My little one is almost 18 months old and while she understands “No” she isn’t fully aware that I mean “No”. She hops on and off the couch all day long. I simply ensure that if she goes outside barefoot or gets dirty I change her clothes and wipe her feet. She eats messy foods in her high chair and I always clean her hands and mouth once she finishes eating. I do let her have water or simple crackers on the sofa. I have blankets on the seated area of the sofa so that helps break some mess.
I hope this post helped or answered questions or concerns on your decision to take the leap and get that white sofa. I’m not saying white is for everyone, I simply want to encourage you to definitely think about it if that’s something you truly want. Arhaus’ Tahoe Slipcovered Sofa also comes in over 20 custom color options, so if white isn’t for you, you can still find a color that is for this amazing sofa. If not this one, Arhaus has many more options.
