If you guys follow me on Instagram then you know I’m an avid SPF user, even during the winter! Well, if you’ve been reading my blog for a while now, you would have known that too. Yes, once the sun shines, which is everyday, then I’m using SPF. Hehe!
With summer being here, it’s even more pertinent that we all use SPF! I mean everyone-men and kids included. I’ve tried a-lot of SPF’s and the ones I’m recommending here are the ones that goes on smoothly, doesn’t have much of a smell, non sticky and, is mostly multi-functional-meaning serves as a moisturizer, too.
I cannot stress the importance of SPF y’all, you will see a major difference and improvement in your skin if you practice wearing it every single day.
So, let’s start this summer shall we?
1. Olay Total Effects Whip Facial Moisturizer -SPF 25: I love all thing Olay and this moisturizer/SPF is so great. I love wearing this on hot days when I need a solid base moisturizer and SPF under my make-up. It goes on super light, it doesn’t have a sticky residue nor does it have a smell.
2. Aveeno Ultra-Calming Daily Fragrance Free Moisturizer (sensitive skin) SPF 30– As it states this is great for sensitive skin. My finance actually uses this and he loves it. You know men are mostly weird about taking proper care of their skin and the fact that I can get him to use this one is a win for me. I love Aveeno (currently using their facial cleaners for my morning routine). If you’ve got sensitive skin, try this one.
3. ZO Skin Health Sunscreen + Primer SPF 30– This is more on the higher end but I love traveling with this one. Hence all those scratches on the bottle in the photo. Hehe! If you’re more into using a full line of products throughout, then go for this and grab the rest of the line while you’re at it. They’re such an amazing skin care brand. I also use a lot of their other products.
4. Epicuren Zinc Oxide Sunscreen SPF 27– It is said the SPF with zinc provide better sun protection. I’m not a medical personnel, I’m only sharing my reviews with you on what I’ve used and liked. It has a slight white balance when I apply it to my skin but remember I have black skin so it shows a bit more. However, compared to other zinc based SPF I’ve tried, this one is top of the line. It’s nothing for me to worry about. I can wear it under make-up or by itself. It has a scent but it’s very subtle and pleasant.
5. Murad Essential-C Daily Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30– This is probably my favorite among all SPFs however, it’s a bit pricey when compared to the others. If price isn’t a factor, go with this, hands down. It is so moisturizing and gives an amazing SPF coverage. If you tend to be super oily, then maybe choose another (the Aveeno or Olay). I have combination skin where I’m oily around my t-zone but I use matte based primers to remedy that area whenever I use this moisturizer/SPF. Speaking of primers, I’ll do a post next week sharing my favorite primers for all skin types.
I’m really hoping you guys found this post useful. You can find most of these on Amazon.
