1. At Home Spa & Relaxation
One of the easiest and most relaxing date is to enhance a part of your home into a mini spa and have a spa date. Now, you can do one of two things here, you can invite a mobile massage therapist or you and your partner can exercise your true skills. For Valentine’s Day I’d suggest the latter, it’s so much more intimate and fun. Both of you will get to treat each other and enjoy each other’s company while in the comfort of your own home. Here’s my idea of a relaxing at home Spa menu:
Facials: I’d suggest that you use your most beloved facial products and give each other a facial. Yes, men, you are getting a facial today. I’d definitely recommend Farmhouse Fresh Guac Star for her and Farmhouse Fresh Pudding Apeel for him. Apply mask for 10-15 minutes until dry, rinse with lukewarm water, pat dry and then moisture.
Love the smell of mask and it is great for hydrating your skin. You’ll notice a lovely glow once rinsed.
This mask is great way to refresh any skin type. It’s tingly and soothing and makes your face feel super cleansed after using.
Massage: Both of you could take turn giving each other deep tissue massage. All you need is coconut oil and simply set one of your mood-lit candles next to you. Once you’ve scooped up a small amount of coconut oil in your hands, simply place your hand over the lit candle to warm your hands and then proceed to massage your partner.
Once you’re done with your facials and massages, go ahead and relax with a glass of wine or champagne and do not forget to drink plenty of water after your massage.
2.Early Morning Hike & Brunch/Dinner
For the active and outdoors individuals, a special early morning hike to your favorite route would be great. Try something different on your hike, maybe wear a new pair of hiking gear or bring snacks and water. You can easily make it a mini picnic at the end of the hike. I live in Los Angeles and one of my favorite hike with a beautiful scenic view at the top is Point Mugu Loop hike. At the top you get to overlook the Ocean along Malibu coast and on the other side is a beautiful view of the Santa Monica Mountains.
After the hike you could head home, wash-up and get changed into something comfortable for brunch or dinner at one of your favorite eateries. My guy and I really love Gladstones, Thai Dishes or Boiling Crab, in Los Angeles.
3.Wine Treat & Movie Night
Think of both of your special drinks, pick those up at the store, let them chill and prep finger foods such as tacos, mini burgers, cheese plate, salad, and yummy desert. While you are out picking up wines or special ingredients for special drink, stop by Redbox and pull two movies, either old school faves, or something new you didn’t get to see in theater. Choose two movies, one specifically for you and the other specifically for your partner. For example, I love Classic British Films and my guy loves Mystery or Scary movies. Even though I usually get my way on our Redbox selection, on a date night like Valentine’s night, I’d definitely compromise.
To add a sense of romance, prepare your living room/bedroom with flowers, candles, dim lights and a warm cozy blanket.
4.Scenic Drive
A scenic drive could be a really fun and exciting way to spend Valentine’s Day. You can either pre-select a route (google according to your city) or simply just drive out and see where the road leads you. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a change of clothes just in case you decide to jump in the ocean or lake, swing by a zoo, or go digging for ancient bones. I don’t know what excursion your trip might lead you to but just be prepared. Don’t forget to set your favorite playlist for your scenic drive.
I hope these ideas help take some of the rather stressful day that Valentine’s day could bring. If you aren’t up for sloppy service and crowded restaurants, give one of these options a try. Let me know how it goes.
Thanks of swinging by loves.
