Getaway: Exploring Torrance California

Hi there, Loves.
To kick off the summer my guy and I decided to make a quick getaway to Torrance, California. We wanted to do something easy, fun, and exploratory. Torrance is only 15 minutes away from LAX (Los Angeles International Airport) and it is located in the heart of the Los Angeles South Bay area. There is so much to do in Torrance and it caters to all interests and lifestyles.
We looked at several hotel options and selected one of the many amazing and affordable hotels smack in the heart of Torrance. That was quite refreshing as everything was accessible and easy to make our way around the city. We looked at Tickets to go see a soccer game at the StubHub center which is about 15 mins from Torrance but no games were playing the weekend we decided to go.
On our first day in Torrance, we looked up so many restaurants and it was so hard to choose where to have lunch. We decided on Great Maple and it did not disappoint. The food, the service, and the decor were amazing. It was just up my alley. I don’t know about you but whenever I dine somewhere, amazing décor helps me to enjoy my food even more.
After lunch, we decided to go to the Del Amo Fashion Center . Of course I will not pass up the opportunity to shop. After all it is the largest mall in California and I wanted a piece of it. I had a few birthday gifts, baby shower gifts, and wedding gifts I needed to buy and to my surprise, I got everything covered and then some. The mall is newly redesigned with outside-inside atmosphere which I truly appreciate. It boasts beautiful flower walls, amazing dining area, and so many stores. Literally, pretty-much all of my favorite stores in one mall. That rarely happens.  The mall also has a movie theater and we decided to watch a movie after we were done shopping.
The next day we had breakfast and then relaxed a bit at 21Square Bar and Kitchen on our hotel property. The beautiful hammock and gazebo was calling my name and thankfully I wore this gorgeous white dress to match the décor. The space also has a beautiful outdoor fire pit. We wanted to stop after our movie the night before for drinks but I was so tired from shopping and exploring Torrance all day. Clearly I need another trip back.
I had one major thing to get off my bucket list, the Torrance Farmers’ Market. Oh yes, Loves. I was so excited to go pick up local produce and fresh provisions I couldn’t contain myself. As soon as we parked I giddily raced out of the car and immersed myself into the most thriving and energy filled Farmers Market I have ever been to. People were hustling and bustling everywhere, bargaining on prices, lauding over taste of local food, and engaging in cheerful conversation.  My first stop was at one of the flower stalls. These gorgeous Hydrangeas stole my heart and I had to have it. I also bought a few other bouquet arrangements and the sellers were so nice to package them nicely for travelling back home. I also got some vegetables, hummus, chips, rum cake, teas, natural juices, and so much more.  We ended having lunch from one of the food trucks in the farmers market and it was fresh and delicious.  We wanted to go to the beach but didn’t make it as we did not have enough time (Yes, again- another trip has to be in the making). Their beaches are highly uncrowded and the beautiful Southern California Weather is just perfect. It’s not too hot and that makes for great beach day. We later on grabbed yummy bowls at Ramen Yamadaya for an early dinner and called it a day well spent in beautiful Torrance, California. Our
Our trip was immaculate and we felt we cheated ourselves by not getting to see and do more. Its set in our minds, we will be back and we know Torrance will welcome us with open arms because the people and culture is so laid back and warm.

  2. Torrance is a very nice city and Old Town Torrance is also a sector of the city you would want to walk around and visit the antique shops and eateries. Thank you for choosing Torrance...a few minutes from the beach and always has a breeze!
