Celebrating My Grandmother This Mother's Day With Hallmark

I was asked to participate in the #HallmarkAtWalgreens campaign, sponsored by Hallmark at Walgreens. Although I have been compensated, all opinions are my own.

Hello Loves!
I wanted to pop in and talk about a special little lady in my life and how I plan on celebrating her this Mother’s Day. Many of you know I grew up in Jamaica and most of those years were spent in the comfort of my grandmother’s home. After my mother migrated, I stayed back with my grandmother, and she did an exceptional job raising me into the woman I am today. There is so much I have to thank my grandmother for. She grounded me in faith, uplifted my self-esteem, and supported my educational goals like a good mother would. My mother always told me she knew I was in good hands leaving me with my granny, and I must admit, I was.
Every year I pick out a fancy and beautiful card for my grandmother for Mothers’ Day. This year is no different and I leaned to my trusted brand Hallmark to serve me the perfect card from the Hallmark signature line. I buy my cards early as I have to post it to Jamaica.
Yesterday I hopped into Walgreens, scrolled through all the beautiful cards from the Hallmark Signature line, and I found the one. I knew it was the one as soon as I saw an angel bird on the front of the card. My grandmother is my angel on earth and I am happy to find a card that represents that sentiment. I also love the soft delicate dusty rose color and the sturdy feel of the card. My grandmother always places her cards on her dresser and this will stand firmly for her to see every day.

I love the simple note inside as it says just enough and leaves space for me to share my own greeting to her. I tend to get really sentimental writing notes to my loved ones, especially my grandmother.
I’ve sealed it, placed an international stamp on it, and it’s ready to be dropped off at the post office. I know her heart will smile and be filled with love and joy receiving this card. This is what matters, the simple things that my special person, my grandmother, knows how much she means to me with a simple gesture. Thanks to Hallmark for creating the most beautiful cards for these occasions.
How do you celebrate your special mom/mother figure, Loves? Have you given a Hallmark card before and how do you choose your cards for your special person? Comment and let me know. Also, make sure you keep an eye out on my Facebook Page as I will be posting an awesome chance for you to win a special prize for mom.
Have a great rest of week.

Hydrating My Hair With Hair Food

Well hello there Loves! I'm probably a bit too excited right now writing this post and it's because I had a lovely cup of coffee and the fact that my wash day routine yesterday was ahhhazing. I'm so excited to work with Simply Stylist and Hair Food on this post.

I was excited to learn that  Hair Food makes two Sulfate Free Collections. I tried Hair Milk which is infused with Jasmine and Vanilla fragrance. It definitely had my name written all over it and we're now instant lovers of each other. Living in Los Angeles, the heat is very dry and destructive on my hair. My hair tends to like when I switch up products and routine and so we're loving these new products. Come with me as I take you through my wash day.
I section my hair in four quarters and finger comb it through. Then I add the Hair Food Sulfate Free Hair Milk Cleansing Conditioner which I absolutely love. It is definitely my fave product from the line. It smoothes and hydrates the hair. It also smells fresh and gives my hair instant manageability.
Once I've applied it to each section, I went ahead and gave my hair a subtle lather. This really prepares my hair for the shampoo. I shampoo once with the Hair Food Hair Milk Shampoo, adding more hydration, making sure to scrub my scalp and then rinse.  If my hair isn't super dirty, I only use the Cleansing Conditioner.

After shampooing, I massage a generous amount of the Hair Food Hair Milk Conditioner all over my hair and then put on a steam cap for 10 minutes. This conditioner smoothes and hydrates the hair cuticle and protects against future damage. I then rinse, add some leave in conditioner and coconut oil, and blow dry on cool. I try to use cool so as to avoid too much heat on my hair.
I finish off and style. I simply add a few curls to my ends and head to get groceries for the week. If you have dry hair or live in dry heat regions, I totally recommend you get these products from Target. As summer approaches, it's also important that we hydrate our hair and protect it from the harsh heat.
Has anyone tried Hair Food before? Do you plan on trying them out?
Comment below and let me know.
Have a great day loves.

Weekend Swing OOTD

Happy Monday Loves!
Hope you had a great weekend. I'm stopping in to share this chic style post with you. I've worn this line, Closet London on this blog a few times and I'm sure I'll always find some of the most unique and chic pieces from them. I love their clothing so much  I have worn this jumpsuit three times in one month. Last weekend I went to a friend's birthday brunch and wore a tulle skirt and this top (similar here). I quickly had to change for an evening date with my guys and decided to once again, wear this cute tie front sleeveless jumpsuit. It was a bit windy and I wanted to add a little edge so I kept on this top (similar here) I had on earlier. I threw these easy comfy mules and compact YSL monogrammed bag on and made my way to a quick coffee date and dinner with my guy. I love flexibility of being able to transition my clothing from one hour to the next or one occasion to another. I've gotten so many compliments on this jumpsuit I had to share it with you all.
Enjoy the rest of your week darlings.

Taking On 28 Days of OLAY Skincare

Hi there, Loves. Today I wanted to share with you all a little skincare journey I went on for 28 days with Olay. We all know Olay has been around for so long and to be honest, it was one of those products I looked at like "hmm that's for older women". Well, I stand corrected and I am here today to share what I learned about my skin by consistently using Olay Eyes Eye Lifting Serum and the Olay Total Effects Night Firming Treatment Cream
What's cool was that I used the Olay Skin Advisor Tool too help me to select products for my problem areas. I simply used my cell phone and captured my face on the platform and it recommended the products I mentioned above. The tool was spot on about needing an eye lifting serum because I do have deepen under eye area. It's probably my most insecure feature on my face.  I figured well, it was so spot about about my eyes, I will listen that I should try their night firming cream.
Here's a shot of me on day one when I decided to begin using both products.
My nigh time routine is very intense because that is usually the time I am removing the most impurity from my skin. I'll use cleansing cloth or make-up remover to remove most of my make up from the day. Then I use an exfoliating face brush along with a deep cleansing wash to remove the rest of my make-up and give a good cleanse. I then added the Night Firming Treatment Cream after my toner and it is so silky with little to no scent. I am particular to unscented products especially for my night time routine.
Here's my thought during/after 28 day usage: I can't say my face looked 'firmer" but I can say it felt a lot more supple. A good mixture of soft and firm. It was more in the feeling than the look where I noticed a difference. I came to this conclusion about 18 days in.
I finish off with the Eye Firming Cream by going around my lower eye area and massaging upwards. You never want to apply downwards or be too aggressive under your eye area.

Here's my thought during/after 28 days of usage: About 2 weeks into using it, I saw a difference. It definitely was not the type of difference you get from cosmetic surgery but enough to make me a bit giddy. I was laying down playing around with my phone and taking selfies and noticed my selfie looked different in my eye area. I then said to my guy, "look babe, my eye area is improving". I've used many eye creams before and I love using multiple products, so I think this one will always be in my beauty cabinet as one of my go to eye creams from here on out.
So, my conclusion with this trial is that it was totally worth it and I am so happy because after the first week when I couldn't quite tell a difference, I was ready to give up. I am glad I stuck it out and have found two other products I can go to for my skin care needs and you can too. You can get them online here at Walmart and see other products. I do recommend you take the skin care quiz to be matched with Olay products for your problem areas.
Do any you use Olay or are you excited to try them out? if you do decide, come back and let me know. I am curious to know if we share the same problem areas and or results-whatever it is.
Have a great rest of week darlings.
xoxo
