Today's post is a special one and one that is very close to my heart. 

For me, Mother's Day is a tricky one simply because the two most important women in my life lives in two different countries. My mom lives in England and my grandma lives in Jamaica. Oh how I wish we all lived just a mile from each other. But, that is not my reality and as sad as it make me each year that Mother's Day comes around, I find my own way to show love to these two beautiful women. I love celebrating them any chance I get. Both my mother and grandmother are to be credited for the woman I am today, and for that, I will always be grateful. 

If I am to sum up three important things I learned in life from my mother an grandmother it would be:

1. Be kind always

2. Work hard and know myself

3. Spend my money wisely

I am extremely thankful that these women paid such close attention to ensuring these lessons were instilled in me, especially how I spend my money. I am the guru of money management and my close friend and family can attest to that. When my mother migrated, I remained with my grandmother and she would send my lunch and pocket money in large portions and my grandmother entrusted me to budget, allocate, and spend my money wisely. I never realized I was gaining money management skills until later in life. 

It feels so good that I can return the favor to these beautiful women and spoil them, especially on Mother's Day. I may not get to see them physically, but I still try to make their day by sending them money for Mother's Day and other occasions.
