Hello lovies:)
For those of us who are fans of Lilly Pulitzer will know and understand exactly what I am going to get into. Here goes:
It is an awesome thing when two brands (usually a high-end and a chain store) collaborate to bring customers the best of both worlds, pretty much , affordable prices to high end brands. Now, when Target announced their collaboration with Lilly Pulitzer I was literally on cloud zillion. The collaboration was set to launch on April 19, 2015. It sure did launch. I literally set my alarm to wake up at 11:45PM, had my Target account updated with card info, address etc so I am ready to go for the launch at 12AM. Well, I underestimated the amount of Lilly Pulitzer customers because at 11:05PM, someway, somehow people had links on twitter for buying products that weren’t even launched yet. To make it worst I couldn’t get the links to work. At 12AM Target apologized that we should bare with them while they launch, at 12:02AM, they opened up the website and I kid you not, at 12:03AM all was frozen and pretty much SOLD OUT!!!! What??? I happened to put a pair of wedges (only sold online) in my basket and could not get it past the complete checkout option. I was stuck, my gut dropped to the floor and my palms were sweaty. Not to mention, I was sleepy. I am still on my computer at 1:15AM in dismay and sadness. I called it a night and lashed out at my computer that “I didn’t need the clothes anyway”-grrrr!
I couldn’t sleep and I battled with should I even go to a physical Target store in the morning? Sure enough, I am up at 6AM, got ready, threw on some sweats and headed over to a Target in my neighborhood. Welp, upon arriving at 7:35AM, there was a line, yes, my jaw dropped. I was stuck between putting my car in reverse or joining a line for a product (something I always said I would NEVER do). well, never say never. This cookie popped out of her car and in my head I had this slow- motion-walk and saying to myself “its game time” haha!
They opened the doors at 8AM sharp and an influx of people rushed in. I tell ya, within a minute, or less, all items in the clothing section were gone. I managed to grab this Romper (pictured above), 2 Iphone cases, a jumpsuit (xxl), 2 shorts, 1 top, a dress, a beach towel, a necklace, a bracelet and a pair of sandals that were one size too small but I decided that I am hanging on to every single thing and I will walk around the store and trade until I can get a few things that I really liked. I did get to trade on a few pieces and I have a few pieces to get altered to be able to fit me.
You may wonder, why go through so much trouble? well, Lilly Pulitzer clothing are long lasting, vibrant and easy to wear. I love her stuff, BUT, they are pricey. I do not mind spending a few big bucks here and there but, I mainly spend big on closet staples such as these in this post-read here10 Closet Staples. I know I went on a shopping experience rant, but it is all for the love of fashion. Has anyone gone through this for any product they really really liked? Comment and share, I would love to hear.
