Blue Hue

I don't know how many times I have said "colors make me happy". Don't get me wrong, I appreciate hues of neutrals as well as black and grey tones, but I am a color gal. For this look, I went with how the weather was flowing. It was nice and sunny with just enough wind-this is what I call perfection in SoCal (sorry to my blizzard babies experiencing bad weather), just move to Cali. Anywhoo!!! I ran into these gorgeous pants at H&M (clearly one of my fave places to shop) and I had to have them. These are great printed pants that can be styled many ways in any season. Get yourself a pair of printed pants, if you haven't already.

Homemade Exfoliant

Sometimes when we think of exfoliation we think of the amount of time we have.I don't know about you but I certainly do. I am often so tight on time that I usually look for or think of easy ways to get things done with great results. Early last year I decided I was going start wearing more lipsticks and, with that came extra damage to my lips, not to mention the everyday wear of make-up. Of course your lips and face get damaged due to chemicals from your products and UV damage. If and when I run out of my microdermabrasion/face scrub products (will share them with you at a later date), this is my go to home made scrub for both my lips and face. It only requires two ingredients that you likely have in your pantry, Honey & Organic Brown Sugar. Sometimes I switch things up and add Organic Oatmeal to the face scrub portion.

2 Tbsp Honey
2 Tbsp Organic Brown Sugar
*Tiny drop of Lavender oil-Optional

Mix ingredients (lavender oil optional for body scrub-gives it a calming scent)in a small container and apply to clean, dry or semi-dry face and/or lips. Rub onto area in a circular motion then let it sit for a minute. Rinse with lukewarm water, towel dry then, moisturize.

Comment below and let me know if you tried this, has done it before and also some of your own homemade exfoliation remedies.

Thanks for swinging by:)

Park Ranger

Earthy tones are definitely favorites for me when it comes to outfits, decor or generally picking a color. I think it is the simple idea that we can use color to connect with something else in a whole different way. For me, this olive jumper is a fashionable upgrade to a Park Rangers' uniform. It was fitting that I stop at one of my local park and snap some pictures. I love the greenry of the parks in winter time. California winter is definitely the envy of many other places in the world, all I needed was a vest to compliment the jumper so I chose this merlot tone faux fur vest that I am absolutely in love with, to do the trick. Hope you enjoy. But before you go, do you play with earth tones, whether in your closets, home decor etc? Do tell!

Thrifted & New

Everyone has their "uniform", weather it is sweats, jeans, leggings, dresses etc;currently mine happens to be boyfriend jeans and tee or boyfriend jeans and sweater. This is my go to casual look. I just love the simplicity and easy-to-wear effortlessness that comes with the combination. For this look, adding a statement shoes, such as these gorgeous pair of Aldo (I recently purchased-Pre-Black Friday deals), or a statement handback or statement piece of jewelry, adds the perfect 'dress-up" touch.
I am also in love with this knitted sweater I picked up from a Thrift Store a few months ago. I brag that it was brand new, at $2.99 and it is The Limited brand. Now, If that isn't a score I do not know what is.

All Black Midi Affair

Hello my lovely Styleweekender readers. I am so excited to be back in full swing. Yes, I have slightly abondoned you all for a little period of time and I apologize. So, lets get back to business.
I am really excited about this post because, it combines three of my fave pieces that always has to be in my closet-Lace, Midi skirt, stripy naked sandals. *sigh* I am in heaven. Today's post is a classic all black outfit and what makes it exceptional is the classic midi skirt. I feel as if I am in the 50s with this skirt :) Plus, you can never ever go wrong with all black. Sometimes I wish we experience some snow or colder temperatures here in Los Angeles, I would have loved to garnish this outfit with a stole. I do hope you all enjoy this post as much as I enjoyed shooting it to share with you all. Have a great day.

The reality is, I would love for you all to see the depth of my trip, from waking up to my old home, to commuting on the roads, breaking bread with friends, christmas dinner with my family, to simple conversations that cemented perfect memories. However, I did not want ot overwhelm you all, so this is what I cam up with. I do hope you enjoy this post as I have enjoyed living and making the memories.

Again, thank you all so much for reading my blog.

Yellow Mellow- JA1

If you follow my Instagram you would have known that for the past two weeks (Christmas Holiday) I went to Jamaica to spend time with my family and friends. Jamaica is my home, I was born and raised there. Even though I now live in the United States, I still call Jamaica home. Everything about me is Jamaican and I embrace my culture, my people and my land in its entirety. Many people often ask, "why would you move here (USA)?' the answer for that question is quite a lengthy one and does not coincide with the content of my blog. Let's just say I love living in the USA and, my heart lies with my Jamaica.
The weather is beautiful, all year round. For my first day out, where I was traveling from Kingston to Hanover, I decided to brighten the day even more by wearing this perfectly fitting yellow romper. It was just right and helped to keep me cool and relaxed. My significant other and I drove down and catch the beautiful scenery along the way. (I am currently compiling a post of just that (Including videos) to share with you all.

Romper: Boutique in Manhattan Beach, Handbag: Kate Spade, Shoes: Tahari, Sunnies: Ray Ban, Watch: Kate Spade-(xmas Gift:), Bracelets: 2-Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Tiffanny & Co, Pandora, Lips: NYX in Natural.

Hope you are all Having a great week and Happy New Year
