1970s Glam Look For Halloween

Can you believe it is almost Halloween? I wanted to create something fun and true to myself for Halloween this year. I find that I often feel like I need to be a super hero or a ghost of some sort for Halloween.

This year, I decided to stay true to myself and so I created this fun glam 1970s look. I am actually channeling a member of a girl group from that era. Can you guess? I’ll put a hint at the end of this blog post.

This post is in partnership with Walmart. All opinions are 100% my own.

I am obsessed with old era make-up and glam. I love the bedazzle, shimmer, over-the-top hair-dos, and a bossy attitude. I feel like women were starting to find their voices in a new way and that made them so fierce. I wanted my Halloween makeup to still feel soft and sultry but to definitely tell a story.

As you can probably tell, Walmart is my go-to for so many of my make-up and beauty products. I just love that I can get almost everything I want there. As soon as I knew this was the look I was going for, I went to Walmart Beauty right away to pick out some fun make-up.

Here’s the breakdown of how I created this look. I had recently bought this Revlon x Wonder Woman WW84 Palette and I knew the blue shade would

Here’s the breakdown of how I created this look. I had recently bought this Revlon x Wonder Woman WW84 Palette and I knew the blue shade would be perfect. In the 70s, superstar women were very bold with their eye shadow. I love how pigmented this is and so easy to glide over my eyes.

I added the dark brown also my crease and light silver below my brow line. Back then, they didn’t seem to blend out their eye shadows like we did now so I lefts a harsh line between the blue and brown. I secured my eyebrows with this elf Instant Lift Brown Pencil in Deep Brown.

I love that on one end it has a brow brush and on the other the pencil. This helped to give my brows that sharp and detailed look I wanted.

I used this Revlon ColorStay Skinny Liquid Eyeliner which I love. I order this over and over from Walmart. It’s also waterproof and holds up nicely. I wanted my cheeks to be soft and sultry and so I tried this Revlon Photoready Insta-Blush stick and I love it. It’s nice and creamy on my skin and I didn’t need a sponge or brush to blend it out.

For my lips, I wanted nude-ish but with a deep earth color. I ordered two different lippies but this NYX Makeup Filler Plumping Lip in color sugar pie gave me exactly what I wanted. I need to try a few more colors from this same line. It’s a cross between lip balm and lipstick and it has a lot of moisture. I can see myself wearing this around the house every day, easily.

I was due for a new set of essential brushes and these Equate Charcoal-Infused Makeup Brushes caught my eyes. They’re just so soft on my skin and they are made without preservatives.

I hope you enjoyed my Halloween look this year. Do you have any plans to dress up? I say go for it, even if it is to get dressed, take some photos at home and create new memories.

This was so fun and therapeutic for me. I’ve been balancing mommy-hood, work, and just life. This was a fun escape. I am glad I can share it with you. Now head over to Walmart Beauty and do something fun with a look. Oh, these gloves are also from Walmart.

Here’s my hint for who I am this Halloween:
